Vagabond Judy Sneakers: What You Need to Know

Vagabond Shoemakers Judy Platform Sneaker

I took the chance and ordered a pair of Vagabond Judy Sneakers. This is a monochrome leather sneaker lifted by a chunky platform rubber sole available in several neutral colors: white, plaster (I got this one), butter, black, and light grey.

Plaster was and still is sold out in my size on the Nordstrom website, so I ordered from the company’s site instead. Nordstrom has a smaller color selection, but carries many of the desirable options and is how I first found this sneaker.

Unsurprisingly, this shoe has a bit of weight to it. I don’t want to say it is heavy, but it is definitely noticeable when you walk. Nordstrom recommends ordering the next size up in this shoe since it is only offered in whole sizes. I am a true 7.5US in any flat shoe, so I went with the 38EU option. The real reason I ordered the Vagabond Judy Sneakers was to match my daily tote (It is no longer available, but I linked it so you can see what I’m talking about). I must admit it’s not my proudest moment, however the way they match more than makes up for it.

I wore these shoes out a few times before writing this post and besides the weight, I find them really comfortable to walk in. I should say they are a rather narrow shoe, so I would make sure to take that into account if you are considering them.

I did deal with a bit of blistering on my right back heel. I attribute it to the break in period of the sneaker due to the material it is made of and the slight wiggle room because of the size I choose. But nothing a little moleskin can’t fix, you can find the one I use here.

This shoe retails for $140 US dollars. Although it is a bit more pricey, the quality of the shoe is apparent and I find it to be really versatile. Shipping time was standard, but I was disappointed in the condition my box arrived in. There was a dented hole in the lid which was unfortunate.

I would consider purchasing the Vagabond Shoemakers Judy Platform Sneaker in other colors in the future. I am looking to add a new white sneaker to my collection and this one is definitely a contender.
